Our Father who art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

Bible Study 1 on 1/11/11
Thanks for stopping by and joining along on our very first group discussion. I am excited and I hope that you are as well.

At the beginning of the week, I asked the question of "Who is Yahweh" and I also provided you with the scripture of the week which was Exodus 3:13-15. You were encourage to read those assigned verses and come back so that we may discuss it in full.

I will take the honor of answering the question first and then I will open floor for any comments you may have, whether it be anything you find different or would like to add.

Yahweh is exactly who He says He is. We call Him Yahweh for who He is and we call him God for what he does. The same aspect is true for when we praise Him for who He is and thank Him for what He has done. From the account that Moses, we are able to proclaim that:

1. Yahweh is Father.
2. Yahweh is Father to our forefathers Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.
3. Yahweh is the great I AM.
4. Yahweh is the name of God.
5. Yahweh intends to be called by His name FOREVER.

"Why?" you ask. "Why does God want to be called Yahweh, I've never heard of this before, Kyla. Where are you getting your facts from?"

I'll go back to the original question to answer the one just posed. "Who is Yahweh?"
Yahweh your Creator, He is your Father. Yahweh has always demonstrated the fact that He wants a relationship with you. Look at who God is to you. He's always there uplifting you, forgiving you, disciplining you, teaching you. He knows more about you than you know about yourself and that means Yahweh wants to be personal and intimate with you. He doesn't want to be referred to as His title. We have names and we are called by our names not by the things we do. Think about it, you rarely grow close to your boss because you act according to what you call this individual. You put up boundaries and Yahweh doesn't want anything separating you from Him, not even a title.
To answer your second question, I ask that you do a little class participation and grab your bibles. If your bible has a preface which most do, then you will find the facts for yourself. I will write down a bit of what is written in a New International Version bible:

"In regard to the divine name YHWH, commonly referred to as the Tetragrammaton, the translation adopted the device used in most English versions of rendering that name as "Lord" in capital letters to distinguish it from Adonai, another Hebrew word rendered "Lord", for which small letters are used." -The Committee on Bible Translation

You never heard of the name Yahweh before because you weren't suppose to hear about it. They aren't preaching the name YHWH in church and many of us prefer to read from a newly translated version of the Holy Bible, myself included. If they can change the very thing that connects you to Yahweh, what else might have been changed and adapted or in other words, dumbed down?

To conclude this bible study, I saw to you that you know who Yahweh is and if you claim that you do not, then I advise that you pick up a book or two to find out for yourself. I mean, you're currently on the Internet, type in the name Yahweh (YHWH) and see what you find yourself. There is no excuse to walk around blinded by ignorance anymore, the Truth will always remain.

Thank you YHWH for blessing this time as holy. I pray that each and every being that sets eyes upon this page leave with a better understanding of You and that Your Kingdom be established here on earth. Thank you for using me as a vessel. As I continue to learn Lord, I will promise to teach others. May you receive the glory, the honor and the praise.
